Optimized Ultra Fines Removal by a High Frequency Fines (HFF) Screen
A complete production line was installed and commissioned to produce sand for concrete production and other applications. The plant operators wanted to provide high-quality sand as part of their product offerings from the plant. The existing equipment could not process the materials to remove the ultra-fines to meet the requirements for high-quality sand.
The AMPCO Minerals technical staff thoroughly reviewed the production line, materials being processed, and the existing equipment being used. They concluded that integrating a High-Frequency Fines (HFF) screen and an additional vertical shaft impact (VSI) crusher into the system would be necessary to achieve the required specifications.
AMPCO Minerals supplied the HFF 2260-4B screen to the site and performed load testing and conducted training for onsite personnel responsible for operating the screen. The screen was successfully commissioned and integrated into the production line along with the additional VSI crusher to produce high-quality sand.
The HFF 2260-4B screen, together with the VSI crusher, will process 100 mtph and provide sand with particle sizes ranging from 0.074 mm to 4.75 mm (#200 to #4 sieve), suitable for manufactured sand across various applications.
